ABOUT HPSN

The History of HPSN

The Human Patient Simulation Network (HPSN) was founded March 4, 1997 at METI’s Sarasota headquarters around a boardroom table with 24 nursing and health science educators from 11 Florida community colleges and technical schools.  These simulation pioneers came together to share their experiences and learn from each other as they set out to change the face of health care education by integrating patient simulation into their curriculum.

What started as a small Florida meeting quickly grew to a large conference as medical schools, universities, hospitals and the military eagerly joined HPSN to share the enthusiasm and hands-on learning opportunities for which HPSN has become known.

Now, in it’s 14th year, HPSN is an internationally-recognized forum touching more than 2000 simulation enthusiasts at METI’s annual conference in Tampa, Florida, and at regional HPSN conferences in Europe, Australia, Singapore, Canada, Malaysia and regional destinations in North America.
