This FREE event is designed to enhance the knowledge of how simulation can be used to facilitate learning, and includes invaluable plenary lectures, hands-on workshops and presentations all in a casual, cooperative and informative setting. HPSN Europe 2010 welcomes participants from all healthcare professions with an interest in simulation and for over 5 years has proved to be an excellent forum for sharing ideas and networking with like-minded individuals across the disciplines and across the continent. November 11 will be a day filled with paid Pre-conference Training Courses. Please check back for more information on the Pre-conference courses that will be offered at HPSN Europe.

HPSN Europe ist das europäische Treffen des Human Patient Simulation Networks, einer Platform zu Ausbildung und Simulation in der Medizin. HPSN Europe versteht sich als Forum und Anwendertreffen und richtet sich mit Vorträgen und interaktiven Workshops an Studenten, Pflegekräfte, Ärzte und andere mit Interesse für Ausbildung und Simulation in der Medizin. Die Teilnahme an HPSN Europe ist kostenfrei, eine Registrierung ist jedoch erforderlich.
HPSN Europe wird von einem Präkonferenz-Kurstag begleitet, an dem zu speziellen Themen im Zusammenhang der Simulation in der Medizin halb- und ganztägige Kurse angeboten werden.

Der Konferenzort ist vom Stadtzentrum in etwa 10 Fußminuten zu erreichen und befindet sich zwischen Rhein und Altstadt.
Mainz ist eine keine Stadt, so dass jede Unterkunft im Stadtzentrum als Basislager für HPSN Europe 2010 geeignet ist.
Für Studenten (und Junggebliebene) möchten wir auch auf die schöne, im Volkspark gelegene Jugendherberge hinweisen. Diese ist auch nur etwa 15 Minuten vom Konferenzort entfernt.

About Mainz
There must have been magic in the air when the first Romans arrived in 15 B.C. under General Drusus and founded at the confluence of the Rhine and the Main. Two thousand years later, despite vast industrial development and hundred-thousand fold population growth, that five-mile stretch of river which forms the Mainz-city "Riviera" still to this day evolves an ambience found no where else in Germany.
Mainz, Mayence, Magenza, Moguntia, Mongontiacum. No matter how you say it, the name brings a smile to your face. Über Mainz
Mogontiacum war in der römischen Antike ein Ort von herausragender Bedeutung. Den Ursprung der Stadt bildete das Legionslager, das Castrum, an strategisch hervorragender Stelle auf der Anhöhe gegenüber der Mainmündung. Zwei Legionen wurden zur Eroberung des nördlichen Germaniens unter Oberbefehl von Drusus, dem Stiefsohn des Kaisers Augustus, hier stationiert. Ein weiteres Lager entstand bei Weisenau, wohl in der Nähe einer keltischen Siedlung, die den Namen des Gottes Mogon trug. Er war der Namenspatron des Lagers und später der Stadt.
