Pre-Conference Training Courses
HPSN Pre-Conference training courses are an invaluable resource for simulation users and will take place on November 13, 2009. The programme will be English-spoken.
Basic Programming of Müse and Advanced Programming of Müse
The latest METI simulation software interface Müse describes a completely different approach into physiology driven simulation. In a two level course we want to offer training to explore the new capabilities of the software and how this can be used in course applications. The basic level will cover
an introduction into the user interface, definition of patients, clinical conditions and examples for simulated clinical experiences. In the advanced course, the creation of complex scenarios and the programming scripts will be covered.
There is the possibility to use software workstations to work and experience the new Müse software interface.
To guarantee an intensive learning environment, the number of participants per course is limited to 15.

Professor Parwis Fotuhi
Director - Helios Academy
With more than 60 hospitals, HELIOS is one of the largest health care providers in Germany. With more than 18.000 hospital beds they treat over 2 million patients per year.
Prof. Dr. Parwis Fotuhi is the director of HELIOS' internal academy and is responsible for the education and training of more than 32.000 staff members.
In this lecture, "Educational Concept of a large health care provider," he will explain the vision behind their educational concept, and the challenges met by this large health care provider. How HELIOS implements the education and training of their staff members and what role simulation plays in this concept. Professor Fotuhi’s experience will no doubt be relevant to all participants from those implementing short simulation programmes to those rolling out nationwide curricula.
