Sharing Care and Compassion with Simulation
In its 8th year, this interactive conference brought together nurses, midwives and allied health professionals from practice and academic settings to share, network and debate new and exciting ways of using simulation in undergraduate and postgraduate education in all care settings. This year’s theme reflected the current debate in healthcare about demonstrating care and compassion when delivering care. There is an emerging debate about how these concepts “care and compassion” could be seen as non-technical skills or professional skills alongside communication, leadership and teamwork for example. The UK Simulation in Nursing, Midwifery & Allied Health Conference offered a full line of hands-on programs given by leading experts in medical simulation. This international event was the ultimate place to discover hands-on tricks and tips for optimizing simulation in your learning environment. Highlights this year included dynamic keynote speakers, master classes from leading educators, a simulation technology pre-conference session and an opportunity to meet CAE’s new Maternal Foetal Simulator.
