This free HPSN SimDay was held at Arkansas Colleges of Health Education/Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Smith, Arkansas on Thursday, October 18, 2018. In healthcare simulation, we deploy deliberate practice to improve our technical skills and interprofessional communication. During the Human Patient Simulation Network (HPSN) Arkansas Regional SimDay, we addressed how we can refine our practice to improve competency, teamwork, and safety in preparation for the clinical setting.
A simulation disaster drill held at the SimDay was covered by local media. Read more about the disaster drill here: http://www.swtimes.com/news/20181019/medical-school-hosts-region-wide-tornado-disaster-simulation-in-fort-smith?template=ampart
The SimDay sought to provide interactive workshops, hands-on simulation training and techniques, and networking options with other sim users. Experts, enthusiasts, and eager innovators from the expanding world of healthcare simulation gathered to experience, contribute and learn together at the Arkansas SimDay.
