Event Wrap Up

HPSN 2010 was a celebration Lou Oberndorf's 14 years of leadership, the achievements and explosive growth of METI (now CAE Healthcare), and the tremendous contributions to patient safety and saving lives. More than 100 free hands-on workshops and pre-conference training courses were offered and presented by leading educators in the field of medical simulation. Whether you're a physician, nurse or paramedic, and regardless of what brand of simulator you use, you'll find workshops that will motivate and inspire you to take learning with simulation to a whole new level!

CAE Healthcare’s low-cost patient simulator, METIman, was again featured at this year’s HPSN conference. Providing all the power at half the price of other high-fidelity simulators, METIman is easy to use and has everything you need and nothing you don’t. METIman is available in two models, one for Nursing training and one for Prehospital training. Both models are fully wireless with on-board fluid, pneumatic and electrical systems and are built tough to withstand a wide variety of real-life, indoor and outdoor learning environments. At HPSN 2010, CAE Healthcare also showcased the a new, updated iStan including new, advanced features and the web-based, user-interface Müse that offers drag-an-drop simplicity and touch-screen capability that makes operating your simulator as a simple as a tap of the finger. Some of the new features that now come standard with iStan include reactive eyes, new ruggedized skin, improved airway and improved audio and quieter operation.
